Researchers at UT Southwestern enrolled 61 previously sedentary adults and found that four to five weekly sessions steadily raised fitness and cut cardiac stiffness, effectively rewinding heart age by about 20 years.

The regimen mixed interval bursts with recreational “base pace” workouts, peaking at six hours a week before settling into maintenance, a dose many cardiologists now equate with daily hygiene. Starting before 65 mattered; waiting longer appears to lock in damage, making midlife the prime window.

21 KILOS GONE IN 8 WEEKS...

Huge congrats to Heremaia, our leading male in the 8-week challenge, who dropped a massive 21kg.
Awhina also put in an incredible effort, leading the female category with 10kg lost.

Plenty of others hit double-digit results too — some seriously impressive shifts across the board.

We normally award $500 only to the overall winner, but this round we’ve decided to give $500 to both the top male and top female. Well deserved.
